Age – 30

Skin type – Dry to very dry skin

I recently tried the Dermalogica Prebiotic Micellar Precleanse and after being so set on the                    original Precleanse formula, I didn't know if I would be swayed towards this new version...

Product texture and scent - 5/5

Let me begin by saying that the texture of this product is amazing. It comes out as a milky consistency rather than the oily formula of the original which may sit better with those that have oily skin or skin that's a little more susceptible to breakouts. I tend to be on the drier skin end of the scale so I did feel a little sceptical about how the consistency would be for me, but actually it turned out to be just as nourishing as the oil version without the heavier feel that oil can sometimes leave on the skin, so I was very pleasantly surprised!

Cleansing - 4/5

After applying the Prebiotic Micellar Precleanse to my face (with a light make-up coverage), the product did quickly get to work in removing traces of make-up and lathered up really nicely when in contact with water, but I would say I needed to use a little more product than the original Precleanse to get the same effect of complete make-up removal and skin-prep for cleansing. Most importantly though, my skin didn't feel tight or stripped at all when using this and feel it’s a great choice for those looking for a high-quality skin prep product before cleansing.

Overall, I would not hesitate to use this as part of my skincare routine - for me, it is best used in the morning before I wear make-up and I would most likely stick to the original Precleanse as part of my night-time routine where I need slightly more hydration and power for make-up removal, but I do believe those with oily or breakout-prone skin would especially benefit from having this as a staple part of their skincare routine!
